The operation involved funneling criminal cash through scrap jewellery business Fowler Oldfield, which was then used to buy high-purity gold shipped to Dubai using fake invoices. Nathan Rivers, 45, of Rathmell Road, Leeds, received a 27-month suspended sentence with a curfew. The investigation, led by West Yorkshire Police's Economic Crime Unit, began in 2016 and is believed to be the largest of its kind in UK history. Between 2014 and 2016, over £200 million was laundered through the company's NatWest bank account.
