• Speedboat killer charged with attacking new girlfriend
    Jack Shepherd, who killed a woman in a speedboat crash on the River Thames in 2015, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH), criminal damage, intentional suffocation, and controlling and coercive behaviour against a new girlfriend, known as Ms X. The alleged incidents occurred in February, June, and July 2025. Shepherd was arrested on 5 August 2025 and denied the allegations. He was released on bail but later had his licence revoked in September 2025 after breaching bail conditions. A public parole hearing will decide whether he can be released from prison again.
