Don Patterson, Gail Patterson and Heather Wilkinson died from the poisoning. Ian Wilkinson survived after becoming gravely ill. Patterson was convicted of three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder and sentenced in September 2025 to life imprisonment with a non-parole period of 33 years. The prosecution is also appealing the sentence, arguing for a life sentence without parole.
