GINAMeldung speichernMeldung ausblendenWeniger Meldungen wie diesen sehenMeldung meldenHinweis gebenMeldung in neuem Tab öffnenA Manitoba forensic psychologist has been sentenced to 18 months of house arrest after being convicted of one count of breach of trust by a public official and one count of obstruction of justice in provincial court. In 2019, the woman began providing care to a former inmate who had been found not criminally responsible for a serious offence and was diagnosed with anti-social personality disorder, borderline personality disorder and psychopathic traits. Judge Kusham Sharma found that the psychologist entered into an inappropriate sexual relationship with the patient, repeatedly violating hospital policies by giving him a cellphone and meeting him privately at her apartment for sexual encounters. She failed to disclose the affair when testifying five times before Manitoba's Criminal Code Review Board, depriving the board of plainly relevant information needed to assess the patient's risk to public safety. The psychologist alleged the patient was abusive and coercive and had threatened to send intimate images of her to her husband and colleagues. The Psychological Association of Manitoba had previously found her guilty of professional misconduct; she was ordered to surrender her certificate of registration and to never reapply.A Manitoba forensic psychologist has been sentenced to 18 months of house arrest after being convicted of one count of breach of trust by a public official and one count of obstruction of justice in provincial court.
