On July 30, 2026, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Team arrested Tresor Horimbere, 24, in Langley, British Columbia. On Monday, he was handed over to Manitoba's integrated violent offender apprehension unit and returned to Winnipeg. Horimbere is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the July 13, 2024 slaying of Mohamed Yusuf Abdullah. Abdullah, 22, was shot in the parking lot of the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex in Winnipeg at about 11:45 p.m. after playing in the Canada African Cup of Nations tournament. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead. Police described the murder as targeted.
