At the 14-minute hearing, attended by three judges, he had no legal representation and said he had been isolated since Friday afternoon, adding that he believed a family member would have contacted a lawyer and he was happy to proceed. Detective Sergeant Colin Davidson told the court he had arrested Kinahan at Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel at 6.49pm that day.
