On 25.08.2026, a 50-year-old Hindu priest from Richmond Hill, N.Y., Rajendranauth Doodnauth Maraj, allegedly sexually assaulted a woman during a religious ceremony at a private location in the area of Harmony Rd. N. and Conlin Rd. E. in Oshawa. The suspect allegedly deceived the victim into believing she was possessed by evil spirits and convinced her she needed the ceremony to heal herself. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with sexual assault. Police believe there may be more victims and are releasing his photo.
