On Aug. 21, 2026 at approximately 5 a.m., police responded to reports of suspicious activity in the 3900 block of Edmonton Tr. N.E. in Calgary. Officers found a red SUV with a tow strap hooked to an object inside a manhole. A witness reported that the vehicle was driven forward in an attempt to pull items from the manhole. Officers located three suspects, one man and two women, near the manhole and took all three into custody. Calvin Joseph Hawryluk, 46, of Calgary, is charged with mischief causing damage over $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance. Linda Lee Scott, 57, of Calgary, is charged with mischief causing damage over $5,000 and breach of probation order. Aurora Felicity Burr, 29, of Calgary, is charged with mischief causing damage over $5,000.
