On Aug. 2 at approximately 8 a.m., an Ottawa Police Service officer was flagged down about a disturbance in the 400 block of Rideau Street in the Lowertown area. The officer spoke with a woman who said she had been approached from behind by an unknown male while out walking. The male allegedly sexually assaulted her and attempted to expose himself. A suspect was located nearby and arrested without incident. Nasir Abdi Suldaan, 44, was charged with sexual assault and breach of probation. He is scheduled for an Aug. 18 court appearance.
