On 25.08.2026, Manitoba RCMP announced the results of Project Dolor, a year-and-a-half-long investigation that led to 15 arrests and the seizure of nearly 60 guns, 10 kilograms of cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms, and four vehicles. Thirteen people have been charged with a total of 67 drug and gun trafficking offences, while two Winnipeg men are also arrested with charges pending. The investigation began in December 2024 after Winkler police alerted RCMP to multi-kilogram shipments of cocaine being imported into a Winkler-area business. The network operated in Carman, Manitou, La Rivière, Thornhill, Morden, Winkler, Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, McCreary, Winnipeg, the rural municipality of Stuartburn and other locations. The first arrest was of a 28-year-old man from Carman, found with two kilograms of cocaine and a prohibited handgun during a traffic stop in February; he faces 29 charges. Searches over the past month yielded eight kilograms of cocaine, 2½ kilograms of psilocybin mushrooms, 13 restricted handguns (three illegally trafficked), 44 non-restricted firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, 228 cartons of unstamped tobacco, and $4,500 in cash. The investigation is ongoing. #Mord
