On August 16, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to 356 James P. Brawley St. NW in Atlanta, Georgia, in reference to two missing children. Upon arrival, officers met with the children's mother, who reported that her children had been missing since approximately 10:00 p.m. on Saturday August 15. The mother stated that she had permitted an acquaintance, identified as Lakesha Brown, to babysit the children while she went out to dinner on the evening of August 15. The children were later found and rescued from a trailer. The investigation is ongoing.
