Police rescued three children aged 4 to 18 unharmed from a residence, but the mother (42) and her 13-year-old son were found dead, having been killed days earlier. The hostage-taker, the mother's 38-year-old boyfriend, was shot and killed during the police raid. Officers were alerted on Friday after the children had been absent from school for twelve days. Upon entering through a back entrance, they noticed a smell of decay and encountered the armed man, who threatened to blow up himself and the children.
