On 30.08.2026 at approximately 05:45, police were called to an address in the Wincobank area of Sheffield over concerns for the safety of a newborn. Officers searched a property on Holywell Heights, where the baby was found. The infant was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of officers and paramedics. Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody. The investigation is ongoing.
