Burglar jailed for targeting vulnerable victim
On 30 May 2025, Cameron Ward, 20, of Sharples Crescent in Crosby, forced entry into a block of flats on Newsham Drive in Tuebrook, Liverpool, and kicked in the door of a vulnerable resident's flat. He stole the victim's prison ID card and birth certificate during an untidy search. The victim, who has serious medical and mental health issues, was moved for his own safety after the incident. Ward caused £6,950 of damage. He admitted burglary and criminal damage and was jailed for two years at Liverpool Crown Court on 21 August 2026, with a suspended sentence activated. The judge described the offence as 'mean' and noted Ward's previous convictions.
