m., emergency crews responded to a report of an unresponsive person near the north end of Fruitland Road in Stoney Creek. A man was found dead in a culvert and pronounced deceased at the scene. The Hamilton Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation, deeming the circumstances suspicious. The victim has been identified but his name is not being released pending next-of-kin notification. Investigators are seeking anyone who was in the Fruitland Road area between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, or who has surveillance, dash camera, or doorbell camera footage, to contact police.
