On 21.08.2026, former world boxing champion Zolani "Last Born" Tete (38) was shot dead outside his home in the Mdantsane township, Eastern Cape province, South Africa. Two men in balaclavas got out of a car and shot him as he arrived at his house. He was declared dead at the scene. A 27-year-old woman with Tete was also shot multiple times and taken to hospital. Police have started investigations and are asking the public for assistance. The motive remains unclear.
