Teddy Allen seriously injured in nightclub assault
The team stated that it believes Allen was the victim of an assault at the hands of nightclub security. Allen was hospitalised and has since been released, but the team described his injuries as significant and said he may require further diagnosis, follow-up care and potentially surgery. Winnipeg police are investigating the incident; spokesperson Const. Pat Saydak confirmed that the investigation is continuing. The team said it is co-operating with police and has referred them individuals and information from those on the scene. In July, Allen had set CEBL and franchise records for most points in a single game and most points in a season.
