60-year-old man missing after fishing gear found
He was last seen at approximately 05:30 the same morning, when he intended to fish from the shore of the Nelson River in northern Manitoba. Thompson rural RCMP searched the shoreline and found his fishing gear about 200 metres upstream from the dam at the Kelsey Generating Station, where Redmond worked. Police believe this may be where he entered the river. RCMP drones and a private diving company are assisting in the search. The Kelsey Generating Station is a Manitoba hydroelectric power plant almost 700 kilometres north of Winnipeg. The investigation is ongoing.
